As a stakeholder in the Tintinara Coonalpyn Prescribed Wells Area, your engagement in this process is important. The following information is to assist you in understanding the review process.

Under the Landscape South Australia Act 2019, a water allocation plan must be reviewed on a comprehensive basis at least once in every 10 years.

The current Plan, which sets out the rules for managing and taking prescribed water, was adopted in 2012 with a review held in 2016. That review considered areas for improvement and whether the Tintinara Coonalpyn, Tatiara and Padthaway water allocation plans should be amalgamated. The outcome of review was to not amalgamate these plans. Amendment did not occur for the Plan at that time.

Another review is now due for the Plan. The review will involve evaluating the Plan and making an assessment of whether it remains appropriate or requires amendment. This evaluation is required to be completed by the end of 2026. A review does not produce a revised Plan, an amendment process is required to achieve this.
